6G Welder (Marine) Job Opportunity

About the Position

RK Travel Services is seeking a skilled 6G Welder (Marine) to join our engineering team in Ad Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for welders with 1-3 years of experience in the oil & gas sector to advance their careers with competitive compensation (5-8 LPA).

As a 6G certified marine welder, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding on critical marine infrastructure and oil & gas equipment, ensuring compliance with international safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform 6G position welding on marine vessels, pipelines, and oil & gas equipment
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding procedure specifications (WPS)
• Execute various welding techniques including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW as required
• Conduct pre-weld preparations including material cleaning, beveling, and fit-up
• Perform quality checks on welds using visual inspection and non-destructive testing methods
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper storage of materials
• Adhere to all safety protocols and marine welding standards
• Troubleshoot welding issues and suggest improvements to welding processes
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure project timelines are met
• Document all welding activities and maintain proper records

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

• Diploma or Graduation in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Certified 6G Welder qualification (ASME/API/ABS preferred)

Experience:

• 1-3 years of professional welding experience in marine or oil & gas environment
• Proven experience with pipe welding in 6G position
• Familiarity with marine welding standards and procedures
• Experience working with high-grade alloys and corrosion-resistant materials

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
• Proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy and material properties
• Understanding of NDT methods and weld quality standards
• Basic knowledge of welding automation equipment

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position requires working in challenging marine and industrial environments:

• Work primarily in shipyards, docks, and offshore locations in Dammam/Jubail area
• Exposure to varying weather conditions
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
• Must be able to lift up to 25kg of equipment
• Requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
