Job Description: Air Field Control Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Air Field Control Technician to join our Facilities Management team in Muscat, Oman. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in machine maintenance and automation, particularly within airfield or industrial settings. The role demands expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing automated systems to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of airfield control systems, including automated machinery, sensors, and control panels.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in airfield lighting, navigational aids, and communication systems.
  • Monitor and calibrate automated systems to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement upgrades and optimize system performance.
  • Document maintenance activities, system changes, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international aviation regulations.
  • Assist in training junior technicians on system operations and safety protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: ITI certification or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical/Automation fields.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in machine maintenance, automation, or airfield operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting automated systems, machine learning applications, and control software.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
  • Safety Compliance: Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards in aviation or industrial environments.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
  • Familiarity with IoT (Internet of Things) applications in automation.
  • Certifications in aviation maintenance or related fields (e.g., FAA, EASA).

Work Environment

This role is based in Qurum, Muscat, Oman, and requires on-site presence. The work environment may include exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, and occasional shift work to support 24/7 airfield operations.

Candidates must be physically capable of lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces when necessary.
