Key Responsibilities & Duties

As an All-Round Mason on our villa project, your expertise will be crucial in shaping the structural and aesthetic elements of the build. Your primary duties will include:

• Interpreting architectural blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand the project requirements for the villa construction.
• Performing all types of masonry work including, but not limited to, laying bricks, concrete blocks, and natural stones to build walls, partitions, and other structures.
• Executing precision plastering and rendering to create smooth or textured finishes on walls and ceilings.
• Mixing mortar, grout, and other compounds to the correct consistency for various construction applications.
• Constructing and pouring concrete foundations, footings, slabs, and steps, ensuring proper curing and finishing.
• Installing and repairing clay, concrete, and other types of tiles for floors, walls, and roofs.
• Measuring and cutting materials to fit around obstacles and into corners using power and hand tools.
• Ensuring all work is completed to exact specifications, is level, plumb, and square, and meets all quality control standards.
• Adhering strictly to all on-site health and safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area.
• Collaborating effectively with other construction professionals, including foremen, architects, and other tradespeople, to ensure project timelines are met.
• Performing routine maintenance on masonry tools and equipment.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this All-Round Mason role, you must possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

Education & Formal Training

• A Diploma in Civil Engineering, Masonry, or a related construction field is required. A Graduation degree is highly advantageous.
• Certification in masonry or a specific construction trade from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Valid safety training certificates (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) are a significant plus.

Experience & Proven Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of proven experience working as a mason on large-scale construction projects, with specific experience in villa or high-end residential projects.
• Comprehensive, all-round knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and best practices.
• Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods, often in outdoor weather conditions.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with the rest of the construction team.
