Job Description: APLO (Approved Lifting Officers)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Approved Lifting Officer (APLO) to oversee and manage lifting operations in Abu Dhabi's dynamic Oil & Gas sector. The role requires deep expertise in lifting operations safety, compliance with industry regulations, and leadership in high-risk environments. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive salary of 21-28 LPA.

As an APLO, you will ensure all lifting activities adhere to strict safety protocols, minimizing risks and maintaining operational efficiency in alignment with company and UAE regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities

Key duties include but are not limited to:

• Plan, supervise, and execute lifting operations in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Conduct pre-lift inspections of equipment, including cranes, slings, and rigging gear.
• Ensure all lifting personnel are trained and certified per industry standards.
• Review lifting plans and risk assessments before operations commence.
• Monitor weather conditions and other external factors affecting lifting safety.
• Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, riggers, and project managers to optimize lift execution.
• Report near-misses, incidents, and hazards to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi and UAE lifting regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

Essential Skills

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in lifting operations, preferably in Oil & Gas.
• Certification as an Approved Lifting Officer (APLO) from a recognized authority.
• In-depth knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and load calculations.
• Strong understanding of HSE guidelines and risk assessment protocols.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and lifting plans.

Educational Requirements

• Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Safety Management, or related field.
• Additional certifications in lifting operations (e.g., OPITO, NOSH) are advantageous.

Soft Skills

• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
• Problem-solving mindset for high-pressure scenarios.
• Attention to detail in documentation and compliance.

Work Environment & Benefits
