Job Description
The Assist Store Keeper will play a crucial role in managing inventory, organizing stock, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. You will work closely with the Store Manager to maintain accurate records, handle deliveries, and oversee the safe storage of goods in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming goods.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of perishable items.
- Prepare and dispatch goods as per orders.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements.
- Follow safety and hygiene protocols in the warehouse.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse equipment and tools.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for timely deliveries.
- Support the Store Manager in daily operations.
Skills & Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications and skills:
Required Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and stock management.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail in record-keeping and stock handling.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
- Understanding of safety and hygiene standards in food storage.
Education & Certification
- ITI certification in a relevant field.
- Additional warehouse or logistics training is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is based in a fast-paced warehouse environment in the Food & Beverage industry. The candidate must be comfortable working in a physically demanding setting, including:
- Standing or walking for extended periods.
- Lifting and moving heavy items (up to 25 kg).
- Working in temperature-controlled storage areas.
- Adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
