Assistant Instrument Technician – Oil & Gas Industry

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Instrument Technician to join our team at Royal Star Manpower Solutions. This position is ideal for professionals with 1-3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction sectors. The role involves supporting the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instruments used in industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and calibration of industrial instruments and control systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation equipment, including sensors, transmitters, and controllers.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and calibration activities.
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Operate testing equipment to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
• Assist in the integration of machine learning technologies for predictive maintenance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Graduation in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction industry.
• Familiarity with machine learning applications in predictive maintenance is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in calibrating and troubleshooting industrial instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Basic understanding of PLC and DCS systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, IEC, API, etc.).

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
