Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Overhead Lineman, you will work under the guidance of senior linemen and engineers to ensure the efficient operation of overhead electrical systems. Your duties will include:
- Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead power lines, transformers, and related equipment.
- Conducting routine inspections to identify faults, wear, or potential hazards in electrical infrastructure.
- Ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations while working at heights or near live electrical systems.
- Operating specialized tools and machinery, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and insulated hand tools.
- Supporting emergency response efforts during power outages or system failures.
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections.
- Collaborating with team members to complete projects on schedule while adhering to quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following:
- Education: Diploma or Graduation in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an Assistant Lineman or in a similar support role.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with overhead line construction, electrical schematics, and utility standards.
