Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties
As an Asst. Ductman at our Abu Dhabi location, you will play a critical support role in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of sheet metal ductwork systems. Your work will be essential to the efficiency and success of our construction and maintenance projects.
- Assist senior ductwork technicians and fabricators in measuring, cutting, and assembling sheet metal components for HVAC duct systems.
- Operate and maintain various hand tools, power tools, and machinery specific to duct fabrication, such as rollers, shears, and brakes, under supervision.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and layout requirements.
- Support the installation team by preparing and handling materials, securing duct sections, and applying sealing materials to ensure airtight systems.
- Perform on-site measurements and assist in the layout of ductwork runs in commercial and residential buildings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop and job site, adhering to all company safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Conduct quality checks on fabricated pieces to ensure they meet precise dimensional and specification requirements before installation.
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and equipment to and from project sites around the UAE.
- Collaborate effectively with the maintenance and construction teams to complete projects on schedule and to the highest standard.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this Asst. Ductman position, candidates must meet the following criteria and possess a foundational skill set in ductwork and construction support.
Education & Certification
- A valid ITI certificate in a relevant trade (e.g., Fitter, Sheet Metal Worker, Mechanical) is mandatory.
- Additional certification in HVAC or sheet metal work is a significant advantage.
Experience & Skills
- A minimum of 1-3 years of practical experience in a similar role, specifically assisting in duct fabrication.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork types (e.g., spiral, rectangular), and sheet metal properties.
- Familiarity with the tools of the trade, including metal shears, snips, drills, and measuring devices.
- Physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy materials, work at heights, and in various environmental conditions.
- A strong commitment to safety practices and a clear understanding of workshop safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely from senior technicians and foremen.
