Auto Electrician Responsibilities & Duties
As an Auto Electrician at Ashwin Enterprises, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various vehicles and automotive equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring our manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Primary Technical Duties
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot sophisticated vehicle electrical systems including CAN BUS networks, J1939 and J1708 protocols
- Diagnose electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and specialized software
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Install and repair wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical components according to specifications
- Perform systematic electrical system inspections and preventive maintenance on automotive equipment
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and technicians to integrate electrical systems with mechanical components
Additional Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, installations, and maintenance activities
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and advancements in automotive electrical systems
- Coordinate with parts department to maintain appropriate inventory of electrical components

Auto Electrician Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification
- Graduation/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field
- Certification in automotive electrical systems or related specialization preferred
- Additional training in CAN BUS systems, J1939, or J1708 protocols highly desirable
Experience & Technical Skills
- 1-3 years of professional experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably in manufacturing
- Demonstrated expertise with CAN BUS systems installation and troubleshooting
- Proven experience with J1939 and J1708 communication protocols
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, components, and wiring principles
- Proficiency with electrical diagnostic equipment, multimeters, and oscilloscopes
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics
