AutoCAD Draughtsman – Oil & Gas Construction

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draughtsman to join our Oil & Gas Construction team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in drafting, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry. This role requires precision, expertise in AutoCAD, and a strong understanding of technical drawings and schematics.

Key Responsibilities

As an AutoCAD Draughtsman, you will be responsible for:

• Creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborating with engineers and project managers to develop accurate schematics for Oil & Gas Construction projects.
• Reviewing and modifying existing drawings to meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Ensuring compliance with company drafting policies and international standards.
• Preparing material estimates, bill of quantities (BOQ), and other project documentation.
• Maintaining an organized archive of all project drawings and revisions.
• Assisting in site visits and field measurements to validate design accuracy.
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve design discrepancies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following:

• Education: Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of hands-on experience in drafting, preferably in the Oil & Gas Construction sector.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), with knowledge of other CAD software being a plus.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Oil & Gas standards such as ASME, API, and ANSI.
• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to produce accurate and error-free technical drawings.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze design challenges and propose practical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your application:

• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools like Revit.
• Certification in AutoCAD or related drafting programs.
• Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping applications.
• Prior experience working in the Middle East, particularly the UAE.
