About the Role

Asiapower Overseas Employment Services is seeking a skilled Blaster to join our growing team in the Oil & Gas Construction sector. This full-time position is based in Muscat, Oman, and requires 3-5 years of hands-on experience in blasting operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in surface preparation and coating application to ensure high-quality standards in construction projects.

As a Blaster, you will be responsible for operating abrasive blasting equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong attention to detail and expertise in industrial blasting techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain abrasive blasting equipment for surface preparation in oil & gas construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to minimize risks.
• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to verify adherence to quality control standards.
• Coordinate with Quality Control teams to ensure proper surface treatment and coating adhesion.
• Monitor and adjust blasting parameters (e.g., pressure, nozzle distance) to achieve optimal results.
• Handle and dispose of abrasive materials and waste in accordance with environmental guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of blasting activities, including time, materials used, and project progress.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to meet deadlines and specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Graduation in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology).
• Certification in abrasive blasting or surface preparation is preferred.
• OSHA or equivalent safety training is a plus.

Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in industrial blasting, preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• Proficiency in operating blasting equipment (e.g., sandblasters, grit blasters).
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating applications.
• Familiarity with Quality Control standards and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina to work in demanding environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights).

Work Environment

This role involves working in industrial construction sites with exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying weather conditions. The Blaster must be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods and following stringent safety protocols.
