Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Block Plaster Mason to join our Construction team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in precision plastering and a strong understanding of blockwork and masonry techniques. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring expertise in applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with accuracy and efficiency.
As a Block Plaster Mason, you will work closely with our Electrical Maintenance department, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet industry standards and project specifications. Candidates must hold an ITI certification and demonstrate a commitment to safety and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, leveling, and applying bonding agents.
- Mix plaster materials to the correct consistency and apply them smoothly to walls, ceilings, and other structures.
- Repair damaged plaster surfaces by patching, smoothing, and blending with existing finishes.
- Ensure precise application of plaster to meet architectural and engineering specifications.
- Work collaboratively with the construction team to complete projects on schedule.
- Operate and maintain plastering tools and equipment safely.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to design standards.
- Assist in estimating material quantities and costs for projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in block plastering or masonry.
- Proficiency in precision plastering techniques.
- Strong knowledge of plaster materials, mixes, and application methods.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- ITI certification in a relevant trade (e.g., masonry, construction).
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Basic understanding of construction safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
- Familiarity with modern plastering tools and equipment.
- Ability to supervise junior masons or apprentices.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role requires working on construction sites in Abu Dhabi, often in outdoor conditions. Candidates should be comfortable with:
- Standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Wearing protective gear such as gloves, masks, and safety glasses.
- Working at heights or on scaffolding when necessary.
