Job Description: BMS Technician (Building Management System)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled BMS Technician to join our Machine Maintenance – Automation team in Muscat, Oman. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in handling BMS software and systems within the residential building sector. The ideal candidate will hold an ITI certification and possess hands-on expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting Building Management Systems (BMS).

Job Responsibilities

As a BMS Technician, your primary duties will include:

• Install, configure, and maintain BMS software and hardware systems in residential buildings.
• Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC, lighting, fire safety, and security systems integrated with BMS.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of automation systems.
• Diagnose system malfunctions and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors to optimize building automation performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system updates, and repairs.
• Provide technical support and training to junior staff or clients as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

• 3-5 years of experience as a BMS Technician or similar role in residential building automation.
• ITI certification or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proficiency in handling BMS software (e.g., Siemens Desigo, Honeywell EBI, Schneider EcoStruxure).
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and IoT-based automation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for teamwork and client interactions.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Knowledge of KNX, BACnet, or Modbus protocols.
• Experience with energy management systems and sustainability practices.
• Familiarity with PLC programming or SCADA systems.
