Key Responsibilities and Duties

As a BOQ Controller at Ashwin Enterprises, you will be entrusted with a range of critical tasks that ensure the financial health and cost efficiency of our automotive projects. Your primary focus will be on accurate estimation, detailed costing analysis, and rigorous budget management.

Core BOQ Development & Management

• Develop, prepare, and maintain comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various automotive projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Review project specifications and technical documents to create detailed quantity take-offs and material schedules
• Coordinate with engineering and design teams to verify quantities and specifications before finalizing BOQ documents
• Update and modify BOQs throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes, variations, and additional requirements
• Maintain a systematic database of all BOQs for future reference and historical cost analysis

Cost Estimation & Analysis

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for automotive projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads
• Analyze market trends and pricing data to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions in the UAE automotive sector
• Conduct comparative analysis of vendor quotations and subcontractor bids to identify the most cost-effective options
• Perform risk analysis on cost estimates and develop contingency plans for potential cost overruns
• Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize project costs without compromising quality or specifications

Budget Management & Cost Control

• Develop project budgets based on approved estimates and establish cost control mechanisms
• Monitor project expenditures against allocated budgets and identify variances for management attention
• Implement cost tracking systems to capture all project-related expenses accurately and in a timely manner
• Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for project stakeholders, highlighting financial performance
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project spending

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate with the procurement team to develop purchasing strategies based on BOQ requirements
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and pricing structures to ensure competitive sourcing for automotive components
• Review purchase orders and subcontract agreements to ensure alignment with BOQ and cost assumptions
• Monitor material deliveries against project schedules to avoid delays and additional costs
• Resolve commercial issues with suppliers and subcontractors related to quantities, specifications, and pricing

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive records of all cost-related documents, including quotes, invoices, and change orders
• Prepare detailed cost reports for management review, highlighting key metrics and financial indicators
• Document cost variations and change orders with proper justification and approval records
• Develop standardized templates and formats for BOQ preparation and cost reporting across projects
• Ensure all financial documentation complies with company policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Professional certification in cost management or quantity surveying would be highly advantageous
• Additional qualifications in automotive technology or related fields will be considered favorably

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a BOQ Controller, Quantity Surveyor, or Cost Controller
• Proven experience in the automotive industry, specifically with automotive projects or manufacturing facilities
