Building Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

HR GLOBAL REACH is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Management team in Whitefield, Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or facilities management. This role requires hands-on expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining building systems to ensure optimal functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Identify and resolve issues with building equipment, machinery, or infrastructure efficiently.
• Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance requests, such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repair logs.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and replenish maintenance supplies and tools as needed.
• Energy Efficiency: Recommend and implement improvements to enhance building sustainability and reduce operational costs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or construction.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and structural components.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards in building maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction, or a related field.
• Certifications in HVAC, electrical work, or plumbing.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient solutions.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This is a full-time, on-site position with no remote work options. The Building Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with the following physical requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and hazardous materials (with proper PPE).
• Availability for on-call shifts during emergencies.
