Key Responsibilities and Duties

As our Catering Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our food service operations. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional catering services while managing all aspects of the business unit. Your key duties will encompass strategic planning, team leadership, and daily operational management.

Operational Management & Service Delivery

  • Oversee the entire catering lifecycle, from menu planning and food preparation to presentation, service, and cleanup.
  • Develop and implement innovative, cost-effective, and diverse menus that cater to client preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations (HACCP standards) across all catering facilities.
  • Manage inventory control, conduct regular stock takes, and place orders with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Coordinate logistics for on-site and off-site catering events, including staffing, equipment, and transportation.
  • Monitor food and labor costs meticulously to ensure operations remain within budgetary constraints.

Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of chefs, cooks, servers, and cleaning staff.
  • Create staff schedules, manage payroll, and conduct performance reviews to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment that encourages teamwork and development.
  • Resolve any staff conflicts or operational issues promptly and effectively.

Client Relations & Business Development

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, lasting relationships and ensuring their needs are exceeded.
  • Conduct client meetings to plan events, present proposals, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Identify new business opportunities and collaborate with the sales team to pitch for new contracts.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any complaints swiftly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Prepare and manage the annual catering budget, providing regular reports on financial performance.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve profitability.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and processing invoices.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best possible prices and terms.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education & Experience
