Job Overview

We are seeking a Cathodic Protection Inspector to join our Engineering team in Muscat. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining cathodic protection systems to prevent corrosion in pipeline and structural assets. This role is critical in ensuring the longevity and safety of industrial infrastructure in the Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of cathodic protection (CP) systems to assess functionality and compliance with industry standards.
• Perform routine tests, including structure-to-soil potential measurements, current interruption testing, and rectifier evaluations.
• Identify and document corrosion-related issues, providing detailed reports for corrective action.
• Collaborate with engineers to design and implement CP solutions for new and existing infrastructure.
• Monitor impressed current and galvanic anode systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., NACE, API, ISO).
• Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and field personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
• NACE CP Level 1 or 2 certification is highly desirable.

Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cathodic protection inspection, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in using CP testing equipment (e.g., voltmeters, reference electrodes, clamp meters).
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NACE SP0169, API RP 651, and ISO 15589.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and CP system designs.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, specialized CP software).

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions and meet deadlines.
