Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chargehand - Civil Maintenance to join our team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will oversee civil maintenance operations, ensuring all structures and facilities remain in optimal condition. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in civil maintenance within the construction industry.

As a Chargehand, you will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance workers, coordinating repair and upkeep activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This is a critical role that ensures the longevity and functionality of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of civil maintenance workers to ensure efficient operations.
• Plan and schedule routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of civil structures.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Inspect buildings, roads, and other infrastructure to identify issues and prioritize repairs.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to execute maintenance projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenses, and materials used.
• Train and mentor junior staff to improve their technical skills and performance.
• Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Graduation in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in civil maintenance, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil maintenance techniques and best practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience with concrete repairs, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, and structural reinforcement.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and their applications.

Soft Skills
