Key Responsibilities
As a Chef de Cuisine Pastry (CPU), you will oversee all aspects of pastry production, ensuring the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene. Your duties include:
- Design and execute innovative pastry menus, incorporating multi-cuisine techniques.
- Lead and mentor a team of pastry chefs, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
- Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control for pastry ingredients.
- Collaborate with the executive chef to align dessert offerings with the restaurant’s culinary vision.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Develop seasonal and specialty desserts to enhance customer experience.
- Monitor kitchen operations to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following:
- Proven experience (1-3 years) as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Expertise in multi-cuisine cooking, including French, Middle Eastern, and contemporary pastry techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Creativity in dessert presentation and flavor pairing.
- Knowledge of food cost management and inventory control.
- Certification or diploma in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or a related field.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with HACCP and food safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in luxury hotels, fine dining, or high-end patisseries.
- Proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
