Chemist - Quality Control (Food & Beverage Industry)
Location: Jibla, Kuwait City, Al Asimah (Capital Governorate), Kuwait
Job Type: Full-time | Salary Range: 5-8 LPA | Experience: 1-3 Years
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemist to join our Quality Control team in the Food & Beverage industry in Kuwait City. This full-time position requires a candidate with 1-3 years of experience in laboratory analysis, chemical testing, and quality assurance procedures.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with production teams to maintain high-quality standards in our food and beverage manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine chemical, physical, and microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including HPLC, GC, FTIR, pH meters, and other analytical instruments
- Document and analyze test results, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, FDA, etc.)
- Develop and validate new testing methods to improve quality control processes
- Identify and troubleshoot quality issues in production processes
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and results obtained
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols
- Collaborate with R&D teams on new product development
- Monitor and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to management
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, or related field
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably in the food & beverage industry
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and testing methodologies
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in chemical analysis techniques
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Understanding of microbiological testing procedures
- Ability to interpret technical documents and standards
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Time management and organizational skills
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position in our state-of-the-art production facility in Jibla, Kuwait City. The role involves working in both laboratory and production environments. Candidates should be comfortable:
