Key Responsibilities & Duties

As a Chilled Water Pipe Fitter with JobsGlobal, your primary responsibilities will include:

Installation & Fabrication

• Measure, cut, thread, groove, and assemble chilled water pipes of various materials including copper, steel, and PEX
• Install valves, fittings, hangers, supports, and other components of chilled water systems
• Perform brazing, welding, soldering, and mechanical joining of piping according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications for system layout
• Assemble and install prefabricated piping assemblies for chilled water distribution

Maintenance & Repair

• Conduct routine maintenance inspections of existing chilled water piping systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with chilled water flow, temperature regulation, and system performance
• Perform repairs on leaks, damaged insulation, valve malfunctions, and other system components
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system operation
• Replace worn or defective parts including gaskets, seals, valves, and piping sections

Testing & Commissioning

• Perform hydrostatic pressure tests to verify system integrity and identify leaks
• Assist in system flushing, chemical treatment, and balancing procedures
• Participate in system startup and commissioning activities
• Document test results and maintain accurate records of system performance
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all safety protocols including proper use of PPE and safety equipment
• Follow established procedures for working with pressurized systems
• Maintain compliance with local building codes and industry standards
• Keep work areas clean and organized to prevent hazards
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Relevant certifications in pipe fitting, welding, or HVAC systems
• Safety certifications (OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent)
• Valid UAE driving license preferred

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Chilled Water Pipe Fitter
• Proven experience with large-scale chilled water systems in construction projects
• Background in commercial or industrial HVAC piping installation
• Experience working on construction sites in the UAE or Gulf region
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls

Technical Skills

• Expertise in maintenance procedures for chilled water systems
• Proficiency in various pipe joining techniques including threaded, grooved, welded, and brazed connections
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of pipe insulation materials and application methods
• Understanding of hydraulic principles and fluid dynamics in piping systems
