Civil Superintendent – Oil & Gas Construction

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee construction projects in the Oil & Gas industry in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in civil construction, project management, and team leadership. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage civil construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Review and approve construction drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to industry standards throughout the construction process.
• Resolve technical issues and provide solutions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Conduct safety audits and enforce strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
• Lead, mentor, and train junior staff and construction teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and progress logs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of civil construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
• Knowledge of local and international construction codes and standards.

Soft Skills

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in project management or construction supervision.
• Experience working in the Middle East, particularly in Oman.
• Familiarity with HSE standards in the Oil & Gas sector.
