About the Role
As a Coating Applicator, you will be responsible for applying protective coatings to various surfaces, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations. Your expertise in surface preparation, coating techniques, and quality control will play a crucial role in maintaining the durability and performance of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sandblasting, or chemical treatments before coating application.
- Apply coatings using spray guns, brushes, or rollers in accordance with project specifications.
- Monitor and adjust coating processes to ensure uniform thickness and finish.
- Inspect completed work for defects and perform touch-ups as needed.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
- Document work performed and report any issues to management.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in surface coating application, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Construction sector.
- Technical diploma or graduation in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Industrial Coatings).
- Proficiency in using coating application tools (spray guns, brushes, rollers).
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques (sandblasting, chemical cleaning).
- Understanding of safety protocols and protective equipment usage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in coating application (e.g., NACE, SSPC).
- Experience working in extreme environments (e.g., offshore, high-temperature areas).
- Familiarity with industry standards (ISO, ASTM).
