As a Commis Chef, you will work under the guidance of senior chefs, assisting in food preparation while maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, sauces, and dishes following standard recipes.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistency in food taste, presentation, and portion sizes according to hotel standards.
- Inventory Management: Assist in stock rotation, minimizing waste, and reporting shortages to senior chefs.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to food safety regulations, hygiene protocols, and workplace safety standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless operations during peak hours.
- Learning & Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of international cuisines.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Graduation or Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- 0-1 year of experience in a professional kitchen (preferred but not mandatory for Commis I).
- Basic understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety procedures.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
