International Overseas Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Confined Space Attendant to join our team in Kuwait City. Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a Confined Space Attendant with International Overseas Consultants, you will be entrusted with critical safety monitoring functions that protect our workforce in potentially hazardous environments. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Safety Monitoring & Compliance
- Maintain constant vigilance and monitoring of all personnel entering, working in, and exiting confined spaces
- Conduct thorough atmospheric testing using gas detectors and monitoring equipment before and during confined space operations
- Implement and enforce all permit-to-work systems and confined space entry procedures in accordance with company and industry standards
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all confined space entries, atmospheric tests, and safety observations
- Monitor changing conditions within confined spaces and initiate evacuation procedures when necessary
Emergency Response & Communication
- Serve as the primary communication link between workers inside confined spaces and outside personnel
- Initiate emergency response procedures immediately when required, without entering the confined space unless specifically trained and equipped to do so
- Coordinate with rescue teams and provide critical information about the situation, number of personnel, and potential hazards
- Maintain all emergency equipment in ready状态, including retrieval systems, breathing apparatus, and first aid supplies
Operational Support
- Control access to confined space areas and prevent unauthorized entry
- Assist in pre-entry briefings and safety meetings related to confined space operations
- Coordinate with other safety personnel to ensure comprehensive hazard control
- Participate in safety audits and inspections of confined space equipment and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification
- ITI certification in relevant field (Industrial Training Institute)
- Valid confined space attendant certification from recognized authority
- Certification in basic first aid and CPR
- Additional HSE certifications relevant to the Oil & Gas industry are highly desirable
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Confined Space Attendant in the Oil & Gas industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of confined space hazards and control measures
- Proficiency in using atmospheric monitoring equipment and interpreting results
- Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems and isolation procedures
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members
- Proven ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods while monitoring confined space entries
- Capacity to work in various weather conditions typical of Kuwait's climate

- Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended durations
