Join Our Team as an Environmental Coordinator in Saudi Arabia
International Overseas Consultants, a prominent leader in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) department. This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, specifically in the Al Batha neighborhood, offering a competitive salary range of 10-15 LPA. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience and a strong foundation in safety awareness and environmental management systems.
About the Role: Environmental Coordinator
As an Environmental Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations comply with all environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental programs that minimize our ecological footprint while promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all project sites. This position requires a proactive professional who can manage complex environmental issues within the dynamic Oil & Gas industry.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental management systems (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Identify potential environmental risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to prevent incidents.
- Coordinate waste management programs, including hazardous waste disposal, recycling initiatives, and pollution prevention.
- Monitor air quality, water usage, and emissions, ensuring they meet all regulatory requirements and company targets.
- Lead incident investigations related to environmental non-conformances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and submit environmental permit applications, reports, and documentation to regulatory agencies.
- Deliver environmental training programs to employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and environmental responsibility.
- Liaise with government agencies, community stakeholders, and internal departments on environmental matters.
- Stay updated on emerging environmental legislation and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Support the HSE team in emergency response planning and drills, particularly for environmental emergencies.
- Manage environmental monitoring equipment, ensuring calibration and accuracy of data collection.
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Education & Certification
- A Graduation/Diploma degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field is required.
- Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) are highly desirable.
- Specialized training in spill response, waste management, or environmental auditing is a strong advantage.
Professional Experience
- A minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in an environmental coordination role, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing environmental management systems and programs.
- Extensive experience with environmental regulatory compliance and permitting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct environmental impact assessments and audits.

Job Location & Work Environment
This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in the Al Batha neighborhood. The role is on-site and requires presence at project locations and office facilities. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia if not currently residing there.
