Coordinator – Test Package: Oil & Gas Welding & Fabrication Role in Saudi Arabia
International Overseas Consultants is actively seeking a meticulous and experienced Coordinator – Test Package to join our dynamic Oil & Gas division. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Al Batha neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of hands-on experience in welding and fabrication coordination, with a profound emphasis on managing and preparing critical safety documentation. Job Overview and Departmental Role
As a Test Package Coordinator, you will be an integral part of our Welding & Fabrication Department. Your primary mandate will be to oversee the entire test package lifecycle for our oil and gas projects, ensuring all components meet the stringent quality and safety standards required for international operations. You will serve as the central point of coordination between field engineers, inspection teams, and project management, guaranteeing that all testing protocols are executed flawlessly and documented comprehensively.
Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties
The Coordinator – Test Package role demands a high level of organizational skill and technical knowledge. Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Test Package Development & Management
- Develop, compile, and manage comprehensive test packages for all welding and fabrication activities on project sites.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review and understand P&IDs, isometric drawings, and piping specifications to define testing requirements.
- Schedule and prioritize testing activities in alignment with the overall project timeline and critical path milestones.
- Liaise with third-party inspection agencies (TPIA) and client representatives to arrange and witness tests, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, NDT, and fit-up inspections.
Safety and Quality Documentation
- Prepare, verify, and maintain all essential safety documentation, including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and QA/QC reports.
- Ensure all documentation complies with international standards (ASME, API, ANSI) and client-specific requirements.
- Manage the document control process for test records, ensuring they are accurately recorded, filed, and are readily accessible for audits and project handover.
- Lead pre-test and post-test meetings to ensure all personnel are aware of safety procedures and test objectives.
Site Coordination and Compliance
- Act as the primary on-site coordinator for all testing-related activities near me in the Al Batha and greater Riyadh area.
- Monitor fieldwork to ensure compliance with approved procedures and identify any non-conformances for immediate corrective action.
- Provide daily progress reports to the Project Manager regarding the status of test packages, highlighting any delays or issues.
- Foster a culture of safety excellence by promoting and enforcing strict adherence to HSE protocols on the job site.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this Coordinator role within the Oil & Gas sector, you must meet the following criteria:
Essential Education and Experience
- A Graduation degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Welding Technology, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar coordination role, specifically within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Direct hands-on experience in welding and fabrication processes and a solid understanding of associated non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in the preparation and management of safety documentation (ITPs, MS, RA).
- Strong familiarity with international codes and standards related to pressure piping and vessel fabrication (ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, API standards).
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite and document management systems; experience with AutoCAD or similar for drawing review is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple test packages simultaneously under tight deadlines.
