Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a CSSD Sterilizer Technician at TeamPro, you will be at the forefront of preventing healthcare-associated infections. Your core responsibilities will encompass the entire sterilization lifecycle of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor advanced sterilizer equipment, including autoclaves, ethylene oxide (ETO) sterilizers, and low-temperature sterilization systems.
- Perform comprehensive decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, and assembly of a wide variety of reusable medical and surgical instruments.
- Execute and validate sterilization cycles, meticulously checking and documenting parameters such as time, temperature, and pressure to ensure efficacy.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on all sterilizer machines to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on sterilizer equipment, coordinating with biomedical engineering for complex technical issues.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and international standards (e.g., AAMI, ISO).
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring proper storage, stock rotation, and timely distribution to various hospital departments like the Operating Room (OR) and ICU.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sterilization processes, biological and chemical indicator results, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous waste in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure the availability of correctly processed and functional instrument sets.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification
- A Graduation or Diploma in a relevant field such as Sterilization Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Certification in Central Service Technology (e.g., CRCST, CIS) is a significant advantage.
Experience & Skills
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience working as a Sterilizer Technician or a similar role within a hospital CSSD or operating theatre environment.
- Demonstrable expertise in sterilizer machine maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting.

- Strong understanding of microbiology, aseptic techniques, and the principles of sterilization and disinfection.
