Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Assist the Driller in overseeing coiled tubing (CT) operations, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Supervise and coordinate the drilling crew to maintain efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) guidelines in all operations.
- Maintain accurate logs of drilling activities, equipment usage, and crew performance.
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues during CT drilling and intervention tasks.
Secondary Duties
- Participate in pre-job and post-job briefings to review procedures and outcomes.
- Train and mentor junior crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize drilling techniques and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in coiled tubing drilling and intervention techniques.
- Strong leadership and crew handling capabilities.
- Knowledge of drilling rig operations, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and operational manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
Education & Certifications
- Diploma or Graduation in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid certifications in HSE, IWCF, or Well Control are preferred.
Work Environment
This role is based in Muscat, Oman, and requires on-site presence in Wadi Kabir. The position involves working in challenging outdoor conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures and remote locations. The candidate must be willing to work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by operational demands.
