This critical role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) that are fundamental to our automated processes. As a key member of our Machine Maintenance – Automation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of system integrity, reliability, and safety. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimizing downtime, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting continuous production in a high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

The DCS-ICS Technician will perform a variety of essential tasks to support our industrial automation infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on the health and performance of our control systems.

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on DCS and SCADA systems to ensure optimal functionality and prevent unplanned downtime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software issues within Honeywell Experion PKS or ABB 800xA systems.
• Configure and test system software upgrades, patches, and modifications in coordination with the engineering team.
• Monitor system performance metrics and generate detailed reports on system status, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control logic, loop tuning, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) graphics for improved operational performance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel regarding control system functionality and alarm management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and maintenance histories according to industry standards.
• Implement and adhere to stringent cybersecurity protocols for industrial control systems to protect critical infrastructure.
• Participate in the planning and execution of system expansions, integrations, and modernization projects.
• Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and system failures to restore operations in a safe and timely manner.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this DCS-ICS Technician role, candidates must meet the following criteria and possess the necessary technical certifications.

Essential Education & Certification

• Education: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a directly related field is mandatory.
• Certifications: Relevant vendor-specific certifications from Honeywell (HCSS) or ABB are highly desirable and will be given priority.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of proven, hands-on experience as a DCS Technician, ICS Technician, or in a similar automation role.
• Extensive, in-depth knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) architectures.
• Demonstrated expertise with Honeywell systems (e.g., Experion PKS, TPS/TDC 3000) or ABB systems (e.g., 800xA, Advant, Symphony Plus).
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (OPC, Modbus, Profibus, HART, Foundation Fieldbus).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Solid background in troubleshooting analog/digital signals, controllers, I/O modules, and field instrumentation.
• Experience working within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry and understanding its unique safety and operational standards.
