Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and heavy machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in diesel-powered equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including fuel systems, transmissions, and exhaust systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance work and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems.
- Operate diagnostic tools and software to assess engine performance.
- Assist in training junior mechanics and providing technical guidance.
- Follow company protocols to maintain operational efficiency.
- Travel to job sites when necessary for on-site repairs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with diagnostic tools (e.g., OBD scanners, multimeters).
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques is a plus.
Experience & Education
- 5-10 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Construction sector.
- Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in diesel engine repair or heavy equipment maintenance (preferred).
