E&I Engineer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled E&I Engineer (Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer) with over a decade of experience in the construction industry. This full-time role is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and requires an individual with expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems for large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with engineering standards, supervise installations, and contribute to project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and oversee the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct technical audits and risk assessments for construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of E&I works.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Identify cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation design for construction projects.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous area classifications and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar engineering software.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and loop diagrams.

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Certifications in PMP, IECEx, or ATEX standards will be an advantage.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and requires working in a dynamic construction environment. The candidate must be comfortable with site visits, inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
