Key Responsibilities & Duties
The successful B.E. Electrical Engineer will be entrusted with a critical role in our operations, ensuring the highest standards of electrical integrity and performance. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and components to required specifications, focusing on reliability, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.
- Planning and executing electrical installations for new projects, including substations, power distribution networks, and instrumentation systems for oil and gas facilities.
- Overseeing the maintenance, inspection, and testing of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, motors, and generators to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into larger project scopes.
- Developing project specifications, technical drawings, and documentation in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Conducting detailed risk assessments and implementing robust health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols for all electrical activities on site.
- Troubleshooting complex electrical faults, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Managing project budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently, ensuring all electrical engineering projects are delivered on schedule and within allocated costs.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the department.
- Staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and regulatory changes in electrical engineering for the oil and gas sector.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this demanding role within the hydrocarbon industry, the ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Education & Certification
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. Electrical) or an equivalent Graduation/Diploma from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Professional engineering certification or charter status (e.g., PE, CEng) is a significant advantage.
- Certifications in relevant safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC, IEC) are highly desirable.
Experience & Technical Skills
- A proven track record of 3-5 yearselectrical engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas or a related heavy industry sector.
- Demonstrable expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex electrical installations, including high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in using electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, SKM PowerTools).
- Strong understanding of international electrical codes and standards relevant to the oil and gas industry.
- Solid experience in project management, from conception through to commissioning and handover.
