Job Description
The Electrical Leadman will oversee electrical maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and supervise a team of technicians in a high-demand Oil & Gas environment. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
- Coordinate with engineers and contractors to plan and execute maintenance projects.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, reports, and inventories.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices in electrical maintenance.
- Monitor electrical systems for efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and implement timely solutions.
Skills & Requirements
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in electrical maintenance within industrial environments.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with HV/LV systems, PLCs, and motor controls.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Certifications in electrical safety or maintenance (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
Work Environment
This role is based in an industrial setting with exposure to high-voltage equipment and demanding operational conditions. The candidate must be prepared to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, and respond to emergency call-outs as needed. Safety gear and protocols are strictly enforced.
