About the Pipeline Design Engineer Position

JD Manpower Consultancy is seeking an experienced Engineer Civil-Pipeline-Piping with specialized expertise in pipeline design for challenging onshore and offshore projects in the UAE's thriving oil & gas sector. As a Pipeline Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical execution of pipeline engineering activities from conceptual design through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of pipeline systems, engineering calculations, and industry standards, along with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities: Pipeline Design Engineering

As our Civil-Pipeline-Piping Engineer, you will undertake critical engineering functions including:

• Develop detailed pipeline design specifications and engineering drawings for oil and gas transportation systems
• Perform engineering calculations for pipeline stress analysis, hydraulic analysis, and material selection
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including process, mechanical, and structural engineering departments
• Prepare technical documentation, including design basis memorandums, material specifications, and data sheets
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new pipeline projects and system modifications
• Ensure all designs comply with international standards (ASME, API, DNV) and client specifications
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup phases
• Review vendor documents and perform technical bid evaluations for pipeline materials and equipment
• Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and design reviews
• Manage project schedules and budgets for engineering activities
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex pipeline engineering issues
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in pipeline engineering

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Professional engineering certification or chartership is highly desirable
• Additional certifications in pipeline engineering or related specialties are advantageous

Experience & Technical Skills

• 5-10 years of progressive experience in pipeline design within the oil and gas industry
• Proven expertise in pipeline routing, mechanical design, and material selection
• Strong knowledge of pipeline engineering software (AutoCAD, Caesar II, PIPESIM, or similar)
• Experience with both onshore and offshore pipeline projects in the Middle East region
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME B31.4, B31.8, API, DNV)
• Demonstrated project management capabilities with a focus on timely delivery
• Experience in preparing technical reports, specifications, and engineering calculations
• Knowledge of pipeline integrity management and corrosion protection systems
