Job Responsibilities
The Instrument Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of instrumentation and control systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs of instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in control systems, sensors, transmitters, and other field instruments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., API, ANSI, ISA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in instrument maintenance, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining field instruments (e.g., pressure gauges, flow meters, control valves).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISA, ANSI, and API.
- Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications in instrumentation or control systems (e.g., ISA Certified Control Systems Technician).
- Experience with hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
- Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS software.
Work Environment
This role is based in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and requires on-site presence at our facility in Jaber Al Ahmad. The work environment includes:
