Engineer - Painting & Coating

Job Overview

NSH (Nasser S. Al Hajri Corporation) is seeking a skilled Engineer - Painting & Coating for our Oil & Gas projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in surface preparation, coating application, and DFT (Dry Film Thickness) checking. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and engineering specifications while working closely with project teams to deliver high-quality corrosion protection solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess surface preparation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Perform DFT (Dry Film Thickness) checks using specialized equipment.
• Supervise and coordinate painting and coating activities on-site.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure proper application techniques.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) to ensure optimal coating application.
• Conduct quality control tests and document inspection reports.
• Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards (NACE, SSPC, ISO).
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members and painting crews.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma or Graduation in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
• Certification in NACE/SSPC or equivalent is a plus.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in painting and coating within the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction sector.
• Proficiency in surface preparation techniques (blasting, cleaning).
• Hands-on experience with DFT measurement tools (Elcometer, ultrasonic gauges).

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of industrial coating systems (epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers).
• Familiarity with international standards (NACE, ISO 12944, ASTM).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with occasional travel to project sites. The position requires working in outdoor and industrial environments, often under challenging conditions. Safety compliance is a top priority.
