Engineer – System Specialist (Honeywell)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Engineer – System Specialist (Honeywell) to join our dynamic engineering team in Kuwait City, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with Honeywell Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in the Oil & Gas industry. This is a full-time, on-site role offering a competitive salary range of 2-4 LPA.

As a System Specialist, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Honeywell DCS systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability in our operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Honeywell DCS systems (Experion PKS, TPS, or similar)
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for DCS hardware and software
• Collaborate with process engineers to implement control strategies and optimize system performance
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration records, network diagrams, and backup procedures
• Provide technical support during plant startups, shutdowns, and emergency situations
• Conduct regular system audits and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency
• Train operations personnel on system functionalities and best practices
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support and system enhancements
• Participate in HAZOP and SIL studies as required

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Honeywell DCS systems in the Oil & Gas industry
• Proven experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Familiarity with control system networking and industrial communication protocols
• Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, TDC 3000, or similar platforms

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in Honeywell DCS architecture and components
• Knowledge of control system programming (CL, SFC, ST)
• Understanding of Process Control Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
• Familiarity with Industrial Networking and Cybersecurity best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Honeywell system certification (Experion, TPS, or equivalent)
• Experience with SCADA systems and PLC programming
• Knowledge of ISA standards and IEC 61511
• Familiarity with Oil & Gas plant operations and processes
• Arabic language skills (not mandatory but advantageous)

Work Environment

This position is based in Jaber Al Ahmad, Kuwait City, and requires on-site presence at our oil and gas facility. The role may involve:

• Working in plant environments with exposure to industrial equipment
• Occasional overtime or on-call duty for emergency support
• Collaboration with multinational teams and stakeholders
