Fabricator/Fitter (Offshore) – Oil & Gas Industry

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabricator/Fitter (Offshore) with over 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Engineering & Construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication and fitting, ensuring precision and compliance with industry standards.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Al Sadd, Doha, Qatar, offering a competitive salary package between 15-20 LPA.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate and assemble metal structures.
• Perform precision welding, cutting, and grinding to construct offshore components.
• Ensure all fabricated parts meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Operate and maintain fabrication tools and equipment (e.g., CNC machines, plasma cutters, welding machines).
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify structural integrity and compliance.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Supervise junior fabricators and provide technical guidance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Extensive experience in fabrication, welding, and fitting within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) and industry-standard techniques.
• Familiarity with offshore safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, API, ASME standards).
• Ability to work in challenging offshore environments.

Education & Certifications:

• Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field.
• Certified Welder (AWS/CWI) or equivalent qualifications preferred.
• Relevant offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).

Work Environment

This role involves working in an offshore Oil & Gas setting with occasional exposure to harsh weather conditions and physically demanding tasks. Candidates must be comfortable with rotational shifts and extended periods away from shore.
