Fabricator Roles and Responsibilities

As a vital member of our production team, the Fabricator will be responsible for constructing and assembling metal structures and components for the automotive sector. Your primary duties will involve a range of fabrication and welding tasks to produce high-quality, durable products.

Core Fabrication Duties

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics to understand project specifications.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal pieces and plates using specialized machinery and hand tools such as guillotines, rollers, and press brakes.
• Perform various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding to join metal components as per design requirements.
• Assemble fabricated metal components into finished products or structures for automotive applications.
• Conduct quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure they meet precise dimensional tolerances, quality standards, and are free of defects.
• Operate and maintain fabrication machinery and welding equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other workshop personnel to troubleshoot design or production issues.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and workshop procedures to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.

Fabricator Job Requirements and Skills

• An ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in Fitter, Welder, or a closely related trade is essential.

• Demonstrable, hands-on experience with fabrication processes and welding techniques relevant to the automotive industry.
