Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As a Fabricator in our construction department, you will be entrusted with a range of technical and precise tasks essential to the successful execution of Oil & Gas projects. Your primary duties will include:

• Reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine project specifications and requirements.
• Performing advanced layout, fitting, and fabrication of various metal components, including pipes, plates, and structural steel, using industry-standard techniques.
• Operating and maintaining a variety of fabrication machinery and hand tools, such as shears, brakes, rollers, drills, and welding equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and precision.
• Preparing metal surfaces by grinding, cleaning, and applying appropriate treatments to ensure optimal conditions for welding and assembly.
• Assembling fabricated components into larger structures or systems, ensuring strict adherence to design tolerances and quality standards.
• Conducting thorough quality checks and inspections on finished products to verify they meet all project specifications and industry codes.
• Collaborating closely with welders, engineers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize fabrication processes, and ensure project timelines are met.
• Rigorously adhering to all company safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations to maintain a zero-accident workspace.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on fabrication methods, material usage, and potential efficiency gains.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this Fabricator role, candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:

Education & Certification

• A valid ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Fitter or related trade is mandatory.
• Additional certifications in welding (e.g., ASME, AWS) or advanced fabrication techniques are a significant advantage.

Experience & Technical Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of proven experience in fabrication, with a substantial portion gained within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial construction sectors.
• Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances (GD&T).
• Extensive hands-on experience with metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, rolling, and drilling.
• Strong practical knowledge of various metals and alloys, their properties, and their behaviors during the fabrication process.
