The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of hands-on field coordination experience, with a proven track record in project scheduling and execution within demanding energy sector environments. This role is critical for ensuring the seamless coordination of project activities directly at the site, serving as the vital link between project management and on-the-ground operations.
Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties
As a Field Coordinator for Projects, your primary mandate is to ensure that all field operations are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the cornerstone of our project execution strategy on the ground.
On-Site Project Execution & Supervision
- Directly oversee and coordinate all daily field activities for Oil & Gas projects, ensuring strict adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all field personnel, including contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, facilitating clear and constant communication.
- Conduct daily site inspections and walkdowns to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and verify that all work complies with engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Manage the allocation of resources, materials, and equipment on site to maximize efficiency and prevent workflow disruptions.
- Liaise directly with client representatives on site, providing daily updates and addressing any immediate concerns promptly and professionally.
Project Scheduling & Progress Monitoring
- Develop, maintain, and meticulously track detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with the master project plan and key milestones.
- Implement robust progress monitoring systems to collect accurate data on work completion, productivity rates, and manpower utilization.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive daily and weekly progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and key metrics.
- Proactively identify schedule deviations and potential delays, initiating corrective actions and mitigation plans in collaboration with the project management team.
- Coordinate and facilitate critical path activities, ensuring all prerequisite tasks are completed to avoid bottlenecks in the project timeline.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leadership
- Champion a culture of absolute safety on site, enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe acts and conditions.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings, ensuring all personnel are aware of job hazards and the required controls.
- Ensure full compliance with all company HSE policies, procedures, and relevant Qatari regulations governing the Oil & Gas sector.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this pivotal Field Coordinator role, candidates must demonstrate a blend of formal education, extensive practical experience, and key personal attributes.
Essential Education & Certifications
- A minimum of a Graduation/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Petroleum preferred) or a Project Management-related field.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or a related discipline is a significant advantage.
- Mandatory certification in workplace safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is required for this role.
Mandatory Experience & Technical Skills
- A solid 5-10 Years of proven experience in a field coordination or field engineering role, specifically within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry.
- Expert-level proficiency in project scheduling principles and software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Demonstrable experience working on major projects in the Middle East, with specific experience in Qatar being a highly desirable advantage.
- In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, commissioning processes, and turnaround activities specific to petrochemical plants or upstream facilities.
