Primary Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As a vital member of our client's maintenance crew, the Fire Alarm Technician will be entrusted with a wide array of critical tasks to ensure the operational integrity and compliance of all fire detection and alarm systems. Your expertise will be the first line of defense in protecting personnel and assets.
System Installation & Commissioning
- Install new fire alarm systems, including control panels, initiating devices (smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations), and notification appliances (horns, strobes) in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local Qatar fire safety codes.
- Program and configure fire alarm control panels (FACPs) to meet the specific layout and requirements of the manufacturing facility.
- Perform end-to-end commissioning of new systems, ensuring all components communicate effectively and the system is fully operational before handover.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Execute a scheduled preventive maintenance program for all fire alarm systems to ensure peak performance and longevity, reducing the risk of false alarms and system failures.
- Conduct thorough inspections, testing, and servicing of all system components, including batteries, wiring, and connections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system faults, wiring issues, and device malfunctions, implementing effective and timely repairs.
Inspection & Compliance
- Perform routine inspections and generate detailed reports to ensure strict compliance with NFPA, QCDD, and other relevant fire and safety regulations in Qatar.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, inspections, tests, and repairs for audit purposes.
- Liaise with facility managers and safety officers to address any compliance concerns and provide expert recommendations for system upgrades or improvements.
Emergency Response & Technical Support
- Provide prompt emergency response and technical support for system malfunctions or alarms outside of standard business hours when required.
- Train end-users and client staff on the basic operation and functionality of the fire alarm systems.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications
- A valid ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in Electrical, Electronics, or a directly related trade.
- Minimum of 5 years, and ideally up to 10 years, of professional experience as a Fire Alarm Technician, specifically within a manufacturing, industrial, or large commercial setting.
- Extensive, proven expertise in the maintenance, repair, and installation of major fire alarm brands (e.g., Notifier, Siemens, Honeywell, Apollo, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical circuits, low-voltage systems, and NAC circuits.
- Strong understanding of current fire safety codes and standards, including NFPA 72.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
