About the Role

Asiapower Overseas Employment Services is seeking a skilled Grinder to join our Quality Control team in the Oil & Gas Construction industry. This full-time position is based in Muscat, Oman, and requires a candidate with 3-5 years of experience in grinding operations.

As a Grinder, you will be responsible for ensuring the precision and quality of metal components used in oil and gas construction projects. Your expertise in grinding techniques will contribute to the structural integrity and safety of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate grinding machines to shape and finish metal components according to specifications.
• Inspect materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control team to identify and rectify defects.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations at all times.
• Document grinding processes and report any irregularities to supervisors.
• Work closely with welders, fabricators, and other team members to meet project deadlines.
• Follow blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to achieve precise results.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in operating grinding machines and related tools.
• Strong understanding of metal properties and grinding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in the Oil & Gas industry.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Graduation in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Welding, or Metal Fabrication).
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in grinding operations, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Certification in grinding or related trades is a plus.

Working Conditions

• This is an on-site role with no remote work options.
• Work may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, and heavy machinery.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
• Strict adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines is mandatory.
