About the Role
ASMACS, a leading name in facility management and maintenance services, is seeking a skilled and experienced Head Cook to join our Catering Department in The Pearl, Doha, Qatar. This is a full-time position ideal for culinary professionals with 1-3 years of leadership experience and a passion for delivering high-quality food services.
As the Head Cook, you will oversee kitchen operations, manage a team of cooks, ensure food safety and hygiene standards, and contribute to menu planning. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining ASMACS’ reputation for excellence in catering services.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
- Lead and supervise a team of cooks and kitchen staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Develop and execute diverse, high-quality menus in line with company standards.
- Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels to minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with the catering team to meet client expectations for events and daily services.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Monitor food preparation techniques to guarantee consistency in taste and presentation.
- Implement cost-control measures without compromising food quality.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Doctorate in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of proven experience as a Head Cook, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role.
- Experience in facility management or large-scale catering operations is a plus.
Essential Skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of cuisines with attention to quality and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
