Key Responsibilities & Duties

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Talentrio, your primary role will involve hands-on maintenance and repair of our critical assets. Your daily tasks will be crucial to our operational success.

• Perform advanced diagnostic procedures and engine troubleshooting on heavy-duty diesel engines, including those from Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Volvo.
• Conduct comprehensive hydraulic system repairs, including pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications.
• Execute routine and preventative maintenance schedules on a diverse fleet of equipment used in oil and gas operations.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and electronic faults using modern diagnostic tools and software.
• Read and interpret complex technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to facilitate accurate repairs.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a zero-incident workspace.
• Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize repair work and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain detailed and accurate service reports, documentation, and parts inventory records.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to apprentice mechanics and junior technicians.
• Stay updated on the latest industry technologies, repair techniques, and service bulletins.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this mechanical role, you must possess a combination of formal education, relevant experience, and practical skills.

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field is mandatory.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM-specific training) are highly desirable.

Experience & Technical Skills

• A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, specifically within the Oil & Gas, mining, or construction industries.
• Expert-level proficiency in hydraulic & engine troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong practical knowledge of diesel engine overhaul, powertrain systems, and pneumatics.
• Experience with diagnostic computer systems and technical software.
• Familiarity with tools, equipment, and procedures standard in a heavy equipment workshop.
