Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Electrician to join our Electrical Maintenance Department in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a full-time position in the construction industry, requiring 3-5 years of experience in electrical installations and maintenance for heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will hold an ITI certification and have a strong background in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems in industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems in heavy construction equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, and excavators.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Install and upgrade electrical components, wiring, and control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Assist in training junior electricians and apprentices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of DC/AC circuits, control panels, and wiring systems.
• Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in electrical work.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Physical stamina to work in challenging environments and lift heavy components.

Education & Experience:

• ITI certification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Heavy Equipment Electrician.
• Familiarity with construction equipment brands (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo).
• Basic computer skills for logging maintenance reports.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is on-site and requires working in various construction sites in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Candidates must be comfortable working in:

• Outdoor environments with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
• Confined spaces when inspecting or repairing equipment.
• Shift schedules, including overtime when necessary.

Physical demands include:

• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Climbing ladders or equipment to access electrical systems.
