Job Description: Heavy Truck Mechanic (Full-Time)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will specialize in maintaining, repairing, and inspecting heavy-duty trucks and industrial vehicles used in transport and logistics. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency and safety within our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and Repair: Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy trucks and perform necessary repairs.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
• Engine & Transmission: Overhaul, repair, and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components.
• Brake & Suspension: Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, and suspension components.
• Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and fix wiring, lighting, and onboard computer systems.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of parts, tools, and service logs.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs meet industry safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with drivers and logistics teams to prioritize urgent repairs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Proficiency in diagnosing engine, transmission, and hydraulic system failures.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, and electrical components.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and metalwork for minor structural repairs.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Education & Certifications:

• ITI certification or equivalent in Automotive or Diesel Mechanics.
• Valid driver's license (preferably with a heavy vehicle endorsement).
• Additional certifications (ASE, HVAC, etc.) are an advantage.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication skills (English proficiency preferred).

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar. Candidates should be prepared for:

• Working in a garage or outdoor repair facility.
• Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and heavy machinery.
• Occasional overtime or weekend shifts to meet operational demands.
• Adherence to strict safety protocols and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
