Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As an HSE Engineer at Ambe International, you will be the cornerstone of our operational integrity. Your expertise will be critical in safeguarding our personnel, assets, and the environment. Your primary duties will encompass a comprehensive range of HSE functions, requiring a meticulous and proactive approach.
Core HSE Engineering Functions
- Develop, implement, and rigorously maintain the project HSE management system in strict compliance with Abu Dhabi and international Oil & Gas regulations.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments (JHA, HAZID, HAZOP) and institute effective control measures to mitigate potential hazards across drilling, production, and construction activities.
- Lead comprehensive incident investigations, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and ensuring the timely close-out of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Deliver impactful HSE induction and ongoing training programs to employees and contractors, emphasizing critical safety awareness and procedural adherence.
- Perform regular and systematic site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with HSE plans, permit-to-work systems, and safe work practices.
- Manage and analyze HSE performance metrics, preparing detailed reports for management to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on all matters related to occupational health, process safety management (PSM), and environmental protection.
- Ensure all emergency response plans are current, and lead drills to validate preparedness for any potential scenario.
- Act as the primary HSE liaison with clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors, representing Ambe International's commitment to excellence in HSE.
Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Education & Professional Experience
- A minimum of a Graduation/Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Industrial preferred) or a directly related HSE discipline.
- 5-10 Years of demonstrable experience in an HSE Engineer role, with a significant portion gained within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.
- Profound knowledge of ADNOC, SHELL, or other major Oil & Gas company standards and procedures is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (or Diploma), IOSH Managing Safely, or OSHA are mandatory.
- Proven hands-on experience with HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other process safety studies.
Critical Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional Safety Awareness and an innate ability to identify and assess potential hazards before they result in incidents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to incident investigation and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence safety culture at all organizational levels, from frontline workers to senior management.
- Proficiency in generating detailed HSE documentation, including plans, procedures, and high-quality audit reports.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems is a significant advantage.
