Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of safety awareness across engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

As an HSE Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining safety standards and mitigating risks. Your responsibilities will include:

Safety Compliance & Risk Management

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with local and international regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 14001, and other relevant HSE standards applicable to the Oil & Gas sector.

Incident Investigation & Reporting

  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes and preventive measures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior management with actionable recommendations.

Training & Awareness

  • Organize and conduct HSE training programs for employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through workshops, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.

Environmental Management

  • Monitor and minimize environmental impact by ensuring adherence to waste management and pollution control protocols.
  • Support sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint in engineering operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following:

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, JSA).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive safety initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights from safety audits.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or CSP are highly desirable.

Experience

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience as an HSE Engineer in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector.
  • Proven track record in implementing HSE management systems.
